Doesn't work

I was anticipating a wonderful nebulizer and I was sorely disappointed. The enclosed batteries didn't work, so I had to use my own. When I turn on the unit, it only stays on for about 15 seconds and then turns off. The batteries are brand new, so it isn't that. I used the trouble shooting guide and nothing worked! I'm returning it.
