Having incontinence or accidental leaking of urine is not easy especially on times that we need to stay out in public areas. It seems hard living a normal life when you have diapers soiling and soaking all day. We asked some people on how they feel about this sensitive matter as this is important to know especially when we have friends and family members who are experiencing the same situation and here are some answers we have got:
“As a boy, I was totally incontinent until I was almost 14 years old and I had soiling accidents every day - usually several times every day. I was teased a lot by the other children at school because I was in diapers. They didn’t want to play with me. Also, many adults tried to avoid me because I was in diapers. To be close to a small child in a dirty diaper can be a very challenging experience for many adults - but if it is a 10 years old boy it becomes unbearable to most people.
Because of this situation, I was very embarrassed about soiling my diaper but my reactions to this were stupid and I behaved like a small child. Usually, I didn’t say to anyone that I had had an accident in my diaper. I just tried to hide it and continued to play as if nothing had happened - and often with the result that my diaper leaked. If somebody asked me I denied very hard that I had soiled my diaper even if it was obvious to everyone that I was running around with a big load in my diaper.”

That was an overview of what a small boy experience in case you are mom wondering how was your child at school. Here are more of sentiments about the matter:
“I am an incontinent adult that wears his diapers in public. You really don't have any choice when you have to go. You just end up soiling your diapers. I try not to bring any attention to the fact I have just wet and messed my diapers. I can’t help it. Hopefully, I am not too stinky while I am in my wet and soiled diapers. I will be wearing them until I can get changed. It really doesn't bother me too much. I am used to toting around a load in my diaper.”
- W. Saldo.
“I, like most people, feel relieved when I poop in my diapers. I do feel a slight amount of embarrassment because I know I smell. But I just try to get to a restroom, so I can get myself properly changed and cleaned, and hope that the "poop wind" I am spreading, doesn't offend the nose of too many people. It's really not that big of a deal. Most of the time I know when I've soiled, so I can just walk to the bathroom and change my pants. Other times I have no warning. I'll just be walking around a store and a strong smell will reach my nose, which tells me it's time for a change.”
- B. Matheson
We think all must be aware that this problem might be a part of anyone’s future life, and that we should never feel ashamed of natural ways our bodies let us down as time goes. That is simply a natural thing and a part of our lives, so not being bothered is actually a contribution to make people more aware that these are delicate, but normal matters, deserve the proper amount of respect and understanding.
We suggest using a catheter as this might ease the situation. Using a catheter is normally painful and causes uneasiness furthermore infection to users. Oct 31, 2023 at 00:03For me diapers were a great relief. After dealing with nocturnal urination and anxiety urination. I decided with counseling that diapers were the choice for me. My anxiety decreased. I still get anxious and wet myself asleep. But I am able to sleep through the night, and don’t have to worry about wetting when anxious. I still wet when anxious, but I do not have to worry about others seeing thanks to my diaper and the painful feeling of holding it. I feel more relaxed and confident. My sleep has improved. It took awhile for me to get used to wearing diapers, but today I feel they are the best underwear for my daily wear. I still wear panties on some days, but my diapers gave given me the confidence that I can wear panties on days that I want to.

Oct 31, 2023 at 00:03I’ve been Incotinate for over 20 years, I have pelvic floor and permeant nerve damage. No control over my bladder and sometimes lose of my bowel control. I’m in diapers 24/7, I’ve seen many urologist over the first few years were no results. I had a falling incident, many times I’ll feel my diaper getting wet and uncontrollably be messing myself at the same time. I have no sensation when I’ve got to go and no control over it . Sometimes it’s embarrassing when I’m out and about but there’s nothing I can do and I’m in a wet and messy diaper, and I’m in it until I can get someplace I can get changed, sometimes it’s an hour or so until I can get home. It’s no fun being Incotinate but I try my best to deal with it.

Oct 30, 2023 at 23:59When I was 49 years old I fell off a ladder about 25 feet up on too a concrete floor, I have pelvic floor and nerve damage, I’ve been to many doctors and urologist over the years with no results, I had a hard time with adjusting to wearing diapers , I have total lose of my bladder control and sometimes lose of my bowel control, I had a doctor’s appointment and he knew I was having a hard time with adjusting to wearing diapers, he put his hand on my nee and looked me in the eye and said people wear glasses for a reason if you break your arm you wear a cast for a reason, your situation is no different you do what you need to do for a reason, more I thought about what he said the more sense it made, I’ve been in diapers for over 20 years, I’ve adjusted to being in diapers 24 7.

Apr 20, 2022 at 15:52The hardest times I’ve had were at the hospital or sometimes at the doctors office. I get treated like I am disgusting. I always take care of my own changes unless I just had a surgery, like on my spine. I cannot use catheters. It is really annoying when the nurses and cna’s ask if you have used the toilet. I say, “no, I am incontinent and wear a diaper. I cant feel my bladder or any of my waistline area.” Then an hour later they ask again. Maybe if they read my chart…

Apr 20, 2022 at 15:52Hi Jorg,
I am just like you. My problem is after my prostate surgery and diagnosed with very early prostate cancer but it is an extremely small tumour, no treatment is required for now. I wear my diaper 24/7 365 and I am used to it. In the beginning. I was very uncomfortable with it if I need to pee in my diaper but now, I am very relaxed when that happens-. Like yourself, I take a positive attitude against a negative issue and that is by wearing a diaper for as long as it is needed and I am pleased with that since I am a free man and can go wherever and whenever and that is a blessing

Apr 20, 2022 at 15:52Hi Jorg,
I wear 24/7 a diaper for prostate issues I have and by saying that I am blessed that I wear a diaper I think positive out of a negative situation My prostate cancer is extreme small 1 1/2 to 2 mm tumour and so far no treatment is required up this point. You make a very good point about adults wearing diapers but it comes in all ages young and old and I am 73 years young. My urologist suggests going for botox injection but when I read the testimonials from other men who wear diapers then I prefer to wear diapers for the rest of my life and I am blessed with that. As you have said, I take a positive out of a negative situation.
Good luck
Hendrik

Apr 20, 2022 at 15:52I am blessed as you are. I wear a diaper for urinary incontinence and that happens after my prostate surgery and diagnosis with very early prostate cancer but no treatment is required as for now
I think positive out of a negative issue and I wear my diaper 24/7 day and night and if I pee in my diaper wherever and whenever so be it and I have the support from the people around me and that is a great help to me. I can talk about my problem by wearing a diaper and the people respected that I wear a diaper for the reason
Thank you for posting your comments

Apr 20, 2022 at 15:48I just go when feel needed and I don’t care if people stare at me. I suffer from serve diarrhea and if a fart comes out, then I just let it do it’s course. It will smell like cheese and people cough as you pass by. I go the bathroom and change. I also use it while I’m in there and people would run out and leave because it is so loud and super stinky.
